The All Progressive Congress (APC) has boasted that the planned merger arrangement of the Labour Party (LP) under the leadership Peter Obi with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his counterpart in the New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso will be an exercise in futility to the ruling party.
APC boasted that President Bola Tinubu will have no problem beating the trio again if their aims was to stop him from winning the 2027 presidential poll again.
The Director of Publicity for the ruling party, Bala Ibrahim, stated this in an interview with The Punch.
Ibrahim, who dismissed the planned merger with wave of hand, said it will be an exercise in futility, just as he also added such a merger is not a threat to President Bola Tinubu in 2007 Presidential poll.
“With my poor arithmetic, let me say if you can beat them individually, I don’t see any difficulty you will have beating them collectively.”
“Whether they (Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso) merged or not, they will still remain below the ladder of the ruling party.” Bala boasted.
