The invasion of the Lagos office of the late Madam Efunroye Tinubu recently by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a Gestapo manner over an issue raised by one Kelvin Igwe has been condemned and described as unconstitutional and illegal by A prominence Lagos based law firm OAF LLP.
This was contained in a three page letter addressed to the office of Lagos zonal head of the commission dated February 2, 2024, by a prominent Lagos law firm OAF LLP, counsel and solicitor to the Late Madam Efuntroye Tinubu Estate.
In the letter signed by the Principal OAF LLP ,O.A .Fatoki and made available to Royaltimes.com said , “We are deeply shocked to have received information that the operatives of your commission stormed office in a Gestapo manner.
Fatoki added officials of the commission also came again after their visit, which he described as breach of constitutional provision
According to Fatoki in the letter, they have been prompted to write the office because of the belief that commission had been made to be acting on the issue based on non-proper briefing or clear case of concealment of facts
The law firm added in the letter that the commission “had been made to fall into Igwe’s bait or agenda without verifying the authenticity of his clim,
The law firm, said the issue Igwe complained about is still in court before Justice Olatunde Oshodi of the Lagos High Court Ikeja, Lagos State with case ID/16933MFHR/2024 and is coming up on the 30 of May 2024.
