Ambulance Crushes Three To Death In Abia

Tragedy occurred on Thursday as a black-coloured Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) used for ambulance services crushed to death three in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

The accident which happened occurred in front of Dacoo Petrol Station at Umuafukwu/Umuagwa village, along Ikot Ekpene Road, in Obingwa LGA.

It was gathered that the ambulance, which was said to be running at top speed before the accident, hit some tricycles and motorcycles, killing three persons and seriously injuring some others.

The injured victims have been taken to the hospital for medical attention.

It was not known if the driver of the ambulance was drunk as he continued on to speed after the accident, before running into a nearby bush where his car eventually stopped.

Villagers and other sympathisers who wept uncontrollably after the accident, lamented that the victims were sent to untimely death.

The residents appeal to vehicle owners plying the busy road to respect all road safety measures.

The incident is coming a few days after a 40-feet container fell from a truck at Ogbo Hill area of Aba, crushing some vehicles and killing some persons.
