Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has disclosed that his love for Reggae music is due to the songs and music of the late Jamaican legend, Bob Marley.
El-Rufai made this disclosure on the morning of Sunday, 20 August, 2023 on his handle on X (formerly Twitter).
“Bob Marley of the blessed memory is one of most talented musicians of all time. My love for reggae music is connected with his songs and music,” the former governor tweeted, just as he also mentioned that one of Marley’s songs, ‘Who The Cap Fit,’ is one of his favourites,” he tweeted.
“Who The Cap Fit – Bob Marley & The Wailers is one of my favourites from the 1970s. Enjoy your Sunday with the song and lyrics that are timeless.”
El-Rufai did not stop at that as he further shared some lyrics of the song which goes thus, “Man to man is so unjust, children. Ya don’t know who to trust. Your worst enemy could be your best friend. And your best friend, your worst enemy.”
Recall that El- Rufaiwas among the list of 48 ministerial nominees submitted to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu
However, things took another dimension after his ministerial confirmation was halted in the Upper Chamber.
After his (El-Rufai) presentation, the lawmaker representing Kogi West, Senator Sunday Karimi, mentioned that the former governor had a petition written against him bordering on insecurity in Southern Kaduna
Afterwards, the Senate confirmed the appointment of 45 minister-designates, leaving out El-Rufai, former deputy governor of Taraba State, Senator Abubakar Danladi and Stella Okotete from Delta State; over security issues.
