Wike endorses Sanwo-Olu for second term

Nyesom Wike, Rivers state governor has reportedly snubbed the People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Lagos state, Jide Adeniran ‘Jandor’ to back the rival All Progressives Congress candidate Governor Babajide Sanwoolu for a second term in office as Lagos governor.

Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to the Sanwo-Olu announced the endorsement on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Despite the ongoing crisis rocking the PDP, Wike has remained in the party vowing not to exit the party. He has however continued to engage in anti-party activities one of which is his alleged open support for governor Sanwo-Olu the governorship candidate of the ruling APC which he is supposed to oppose by default.

The PDP governorship candidate in the state, Jide Adeniran ‘Jandor’ was welcomed into the party by Wike and others but it appeared Wike’s feud with party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and chairman, Iyorchia Ayu is taking a toll Adeniran.

Jandor is running on a ticket with popular actress Funke Akindele.
