Suspected bandits in the early hours of Monday stormed the Gwarinpa Estate, Abuja’s largest estate located along Abuja-Zuba Expressway and kidnapped some residents.
Sources said the bandits invaded Genuine Estate after Efab Queens at 6th Avenue in Gwarinpa Estate on Monday morning between 1am and 4am.
It was gathered that the bandits, who were in large numbers, were armed with bows, arrows, and machetes, moving from one building to the other.
Reports say with the way the bandits operated scores of residents may have been kidnapped by them.
The attack comes hours after many worshippers were killed in a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh told The Nation there is an unconfirmed incident at Galadimawa area of the FCT and not Gwarinpa.
She told The Nation that it was not yet confirmed if the incident was a case of kidnap or robbery.
