An Area Court in Jos, Plateau State capital, on Wednesday sentenced one Idris Mohammed, 23,to three months in jail for stealing iron rods valued at N 200,000.
The Judge, Shawomi Bokkos, following his admission of guilt and request for mercy from the court, sentenced the offender.
The convict was also offered the option of a N30,000 fine by the judge.
Prior to Mohammed sentence, the police prosecutor ,Inspector Monday Dabit, told the the court that Mr Sarpila Yaro had reported the case at the “B” Division police station on August 6.
According to Dabi, the defendant broke into his chicken farm and took N 200,000 worth of iron rods.
The prosecution also informed the court that the accused had admitted to committing the crime during the course of the police investigation.
